California is rolling out new wildfire prevention rules that could affect nearly 2 million homeowners, requiring changes to landscaping within five feet of homes in fire-prone areas.
Approved by the California Board of Forestry and Fire Protection, the "Zone 0" regulations aim to create an ember-resistant buffer by phasing out wood mulch, stored firewood, and certain plants close to structures, while urging property owners to clear away dead vegetation and debris from roofs and gutters.
The rules will be phased in over several years, with flexibility for local adaptation, so most homeowners have until around 2029 or later to comply—giving plenty of time to rethink garden plans and fencing in high-risk regions. |

🛑 Urgent: Mysterious Voicemail Scams and CareCloud Data Breach 🛑 |

Tech journalist Kurt "CyberGuy" Knutsson explains that these silent messages usually result from robocalls, aggressive spam filtering, or ringless voicemail technology—not hackers.
The key advice: don't call back mysterious numbers, use your phone's spam-blocking tools, and ask your carrier for extra help. While these voicemails are annoying, curiosity and engagement are what scammers hope for most. |

CareCloud, a major healthcare technology provider, has revealed a significant data breach that compromised the sensitive information of over 3.75 million people earlier this year.
Attackers accessed the company’s cloud environment, resulting in the theft of personal details such as names, addresses, Social Security numbers, medical records, and some financial data.
The breach disrupted CareCloud's electronic health record services briefly before being contained. If you've been notified by CareCloud, experts urge immediate action—check the company’s guidance, change passwords, enable strong two-factor authentication, and monitor for suspicious activity to protect your identity and finances. |
